In a nutshell, we track our visitors. We want to know who's here. Do we share that information with anyone else? NO. We do not. If you contact us via email, we will not share your email address with anyone. We just want to make sure we are reaching the people we want to and what their interest in our site is (popular pages). We thank you for visiting and hope you will return often. Thanks!

PRIVACY POLICY
No effort is made to identify public users of this site. No identifying data is disclosed to any third party for any purpose. Data that we collect is used only for server administration, statistical documentation and research.
This statement applies to interactions with our web servers. It does not apply to email sent. Any questions regarding the web site and the privacy policy can be directed to [email protected]. Email interactions are guided by general net-etiquette conventions.
As is typical, we log http requests to our server. This means that we know the originating IP (e.g. 18.29.0.1) address of a user requesting a page on our site. We also know the Referer and User-Agent information accompanied with each page request. We do not log the specific identity of visitors. We occasionally analyze the log files to determine which files are most requested and the previous site or referring site which prompted the request. Our logging is passive; we do not use technologies such as cookies to maintain any information on users.
All logged information is kept indefinitely as admistrative and research material; it is not disclosed outside of TarheelWriter site personnel. Non-identifying statistics generated from these logs may be reported as part of research results.
